How do I make an appointment?
An appointment is made by calling my office at 204.898.7789. or email at accgcounselling@gmail.com. If you reach my voicemail, simply leave your name and number and I will return your call.

How do I begin a counselling session?
It is helpful to provide a brief history of the circumstance that prompted you to schedule the appointment.

How often and how long will I need to come?
As you begin the counselling process, sessions are spaced one week apart. The complexity of the issue will determine how long you need to come. Many come for only a few sessions while others come for the better part of a year or more.

What if I don’t like your approach as a counsellor?
The counsellor/client relationship is as important as the approach to counselling. I endeavor to provide a safe environment that will assist you in navigating through difficult and often messy issues. If you find that the connection or the counselling approach is not right for you, I will work with you to find an appropriate referral.

My spouse does not want to come? Is it still worthwhile going?
Yes. If your spouse is not willing to come with you to explore the issues in your marriage, then your challenge is to investigate what options you have for resolution in the marriage and determine which option is the best.

What about traumatic issues from my past?
Childhood and past traumatic experiences can significantly influence people's thought patterns, beliefs and current ways of relating. It is often helpful to consider how these dynamics have shaped our thoughts and behaviours.

What are your fees?
The fee for a 50 minute session is $120.  with GST added.

What is the procedure for payments?
You can pay by credit card, etransfer or cash at the beginning of your session, and we will provide you with a receipt.

Do you have a cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice be given by phone or email. Because the session is reserved exclusively for you, if you cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice for any reason or do not show up for a session, there is a fee of $120. (the full session fee).

Can your services be reimbursed through employee benefit providers?
We do not bill any employee benefit provider directly; however, you are issued a receipt for the each counselling session. Employee benefit providers often require that the counsellor be a psychologist, which I am not.
